Your traces
Traces you paste, open or drop into prettyTrace are parsed and displayed by code running in your browser. prettyTrace has no backend that receives, stores or logs trace contents.
The site shows advertising (see below). Advertising scripts run inside the same page as the viewer, so content on the page is technically reachable by them. Do not paste secrets, credentials or personal data you are not allowed to share; remove or anonymise them first.
Share links
When you create a share link, the trace is compressed into the link itself (after the #). It is not
uploaded to prettyTrace. Anyone who has the link can read the trace, and the link may be kept in browser history
or wherever you paste it.
Stored in your browser
prettyTrace saves one preference in your browser's local storage: the width of the editor pane. It never leaves your device and you can clear it at any time through your browser settings.
Advertising and cookies
prettyTrace is free and funded by ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads, to measure them, and, where you allow it, to personalise them based on your visits to this and other websites.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent through a Google-certified consent banner before cookies are used for personalised advertising. You can change your choice later through the privacy settings link that banner provides.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes technical request data (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. See Vercel's privacy policy. prettyTrace does not run its own analytics.
Children
prettyTrace is a developer tool and is not directed at children under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date above is updated.
